Piano Tuning and More...

About Us

Mark Brice, Owner

Brice Piano Service has been offering quality piano tuning services since 1997. Mark Brice, owner, is a retired Minister of Music and public school teacher. The other two tuners are also professional musicians.

Tuning of pianos is set up with a Sanderson Accu-Tuner and is finished using the trained ear of a professional musician and experienced tuner. Mark was trained by a Master Piano Technician at the Edinboro University of Pennsylvania. The two new tuners on the Brice Piano Service team have been personally trained by Mr. Brice and have passed rigorous examination. Limited servicing beyond just regular tuning is now available.

A normal tuning, that is without any extra adjusting or "pitch raise", is $140.00. "Pitch Raise" refers to a piano that has either not been tuned for a long period of time or has been moved improperly or otherwise abused and the strings have stretched to become more than a quarter-step flat. This requires a rough tuning first and then the entire piano to be tuned again "at pitch". This process costs an additional $70.00, since in essence the piano has to be tuned twice.
